Privacy Policy
How Alpha Eagle Roofing collects, uses, and protects personal information — including your rights under California law.
1. Scope & effective date
This Privacy Policy describes how Alpha Eagle Roofing ("we," "us," "our," or "Alpha Eagle"), a California-licensed roofing contractor (CSLB License #1148511, Class C-39), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information about visitors to alphaeagleroofing.com (the "Site") and prospective and existing customers (collectively, "you").
This policy is written to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), the California Online Privacy Protection Act ("CalOPPA"), and other applicable California and federal laws. It applies only to information collected through the Site, by telephone, by email, by text message, in person on a job site, or through our online estimate booking partner (Jobber / Client Hub).
2. Information we collect
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information defined by CCPA/CPRA § 1798.140(v):
- Identifiers — name, postal address, ZIP code, email address, telephone number, IP address.
- Customer records (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)) — billing address, payment information processed by our third-party payment processor (we do not store full card numbers), signed estimates and contracts.
- Commercial information — services requested, properties inspected, estimates issued, transactions completed.
- Internet or other electronic network activity — pages viewed, referring URL, browser type, device type, approximate session duration, interactions with our forms.
- Geolocation data — approximate location derived from IP address or service ZIP code (we do not collect precise GPS location).
- Audio, visual, or similar information — photographs of your property's roof taken during inspection or by our project-documentation tool (CompanyCam) for the limited purpose of preparing your estimate and documenting the work performed.
- Professional or employment-related information — only if you apply to work with us through a job posting.
- Inferences — service interests inferred from your form selections (e.g., "repair" vs. "replacement").
We do not knowingly collect any "sensitive personal information" as defined by CPRA § 1798.140(ae), including Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, union membership, the contents of mail/email/text messages not directed to us, genetic data, biometric identifiers, health information, or information about sex life or sexual orientation.
3. Sources of information
We collect personal information directly from you when you:
- Submit the "free estimate" or contact form on the Site;
- Call, text, or email us;
- Book an estimate through our Jobber Client Hub link;
- Sign a written estimate or contract;
- Communicate with our crew on a job site.
We also collect information automatically through standard server logs, cookies, and similar technologies as described in Section 10.
4. How we use it
We use personal information for the following business purposes, as defined by CCPA/CPRA § 1798.140(e):
- To respond to your inquiry, prepare a no-obligation written estimate, and schedule an inspection;
- To perform the roofing services you have contracted for and to bill you for them;
- To document work-in-progress and completed work, including before/after photographs, for warranty, quality-assurance, and internal training purposes;
- To comply with our obligations under California contracting law (CSLB recordkeeping, mechanic's lien notices under Cal. Civ. Code §§ 8200–8216, written warranty obligations);
- To send service-related communications (appointment confirmations, project updates, payment receipts) by phone, email, or — only with your consent — text message;
- To improve the Site, our forms, and our customer experience;
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity;
- To enforce our Terms of Service and protect our legal rights.
We will not use your personal information for materially different purposes than those described above without providing notice and, where required, obtaining your consent.
5. Disclosure to third parties
In the past 12 months we have disclosed the categories of personal information listed in Section 2 to the following categories of recipients, each only for the business purposes listed above and under a written contract that prohibits them from using the information for any other purpose:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site and our business — including our web host, email-delivery provider, estimate-booking platform (Jobber), project-photo platform (CompanyCam), payment processor, and analytics provider (Google Analytics, with IP anonymization).
- Subcontractors we engage to perform discrete portions of your project (e.g., a licensed gutter installer), limited to the information necessary to complete their scope of work.
- Insurance carriers and adjusters, only when you ask us to coordinate an insurance claim on your behalf and only with information you have authorized us to share.
- Government agencies when required by law, subpoena, valid legal process, or to enforce our legal rights (including building-permit applications and CSLB inquiries).
- Professional advisors (attorneys, accountants, auditors) under duty of confidentiality.
- Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, under contractual protections.
6. We do not sell or share your personal information
Alpha Eagle Roofing does not sell personal information in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration, and does not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in CCPA/CPRA § 1798.140(ad) and (ah). We have not done so in the preceding 12 months and have no plans to do so. Because we do not sell or share, no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link is required by § 1798.135 — but if our practices ever change, we will update this policy and provide the required link before doing so.
7. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Right to know (§ 1798.110, § 1798.115) — request the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties to whom we have disclosed it.
- Right to delete (§ 1798.105) — request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to the statutory exceptions (e.g., to complete a transaction, comply with a legal obligation, or exercise free speech).
- Right to correct (§ 1798.106) — request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing (§ 1798.120) — see Section 6 above; we do not sell or share.
- Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (§ 1798.121) — we do not collect sensitive personal information for any purpose that would trigger this right.
- Right to non-discrimination (§ 1798.125) — we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.
8. How to exercise your rights
To exercise any right above, contact us using either method below:
- Email: privacy@alphaeagleroofing.com
- Phone: (415) 410-7917
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. For most requests we will ask you to confirm two or three pieces of personal information we already have on file (for example, the address where work was performed and the date of service). We will not require you to create an account with us in order to make a request.
Authorized agents. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written authorization signed by you, and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us before fulfilling the request.
Response time. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days, with one possible 45-day extension if reasonably necessary, as permitted by § 1798.130.
9. SMS & text message consent
By providing your mobile phone number on a Site form, by signing an estimate or contract that includes a mobile number, or by texting us first, you consent to receive non-marketing transactional and service-related text messages from Alpha Eagle Roofing — such as appointment confirmations, en-route notifications, project status updates, and payment receipts.
Message and data rates may apply. Frequency depends on your project. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message; you can request help by replying HELP. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from Alpha Eagle Roofing. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages and we do not share your mobile number with third parties for marketing purposes.
10. Cookies & tracking technologies
The Site uses the following limited tracking technologies:
- Strictly necessary cookies set by WordPress for session management, security (CSRF tokens), and form-submission verification.
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 (when active) with IP anonymization enabled. These cookies help us understand which pages are most useful and identify performance problems. They do not link page activity to your name or email.
- Preconnect / DNS-prefetch hints that do not set cookies but speed up loading of resources from our estimate-booking partner and analytics provider.
You can block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the lead form and other features from working.
11. Do Not Track signals
Pursuant to CalOPPA § 22575(b)(5)–(7): some browsers send a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") signal. There is currently no industry consensus on how websites must respond to DNT signals, so the Site does not currently change its behavior in response to DNT signals. We do not allow third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities across other websites when you use the Site.
12. Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83)
California residents may request, once per calendar year and free of charge, information regarding personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year. Because we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes, the answer to any such request will always be "none." To submit a Shine the Light request, contact us at the address in Section 17.
13. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16 (CCPA opt-in standard). If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it. If you believe we have such information, please contact us.
14. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including:
- Lead inquiries that do not become customers: up to 24 months;
- Active and historical customer records, including signed estimates and contracts: as required by the California Business & Professions Code and the California Statute of Limitations for written contracts (Cal. Code Civ. Proc. § 337), typically four years after project completion, plus any time required by warranty;
- Project photographs: for the duration of any applicable warranty plus four years;
- Financial records: seven years, consistent with general accounting practice.
When the retention period expires, we will securely delete or de-identify the information.
15. Data security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction — including TLS encryption for data transmitted to and from the Site, role-based access controls for our administrative interface, encrypted backups, and contractual security commitments from our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice — for example, by posting a notice on the Site's home page for at least 30 days.
