About this job

Low-slope roof replacement on a single-story home in Newark, CA (Alameda County), completed in October 2026.

The old flat roof was worn through in places and carried years of patches. Our crew removed the failing roofing, replaced damaged roof-deck sections with new wood sheathing, and rebuilt the roof as a three-layer CertainTeed modified bitumen system: a Glasbase base sheet, a Flintlastic STA torch-applied ply, and a Flintlastic GTA white granulated cap sheet. The white cap sheet reflects more sunlight than the old dark surface, which helps the rooms under a flat roof stay cooler.

We also installed new galvanized gravel-stop edge metal, new aluminum roof vent assemblies, new pipe flashings with collars, and new galvanized drop outlets so water leaves the roof at the drains instead of standing on it. Tapered edge strips were added along the perimeter to ease the transition at the roof edge.

The before and after photos on this page were taken by our crew on site and logged in CompanyCam, so the homeowner has a dated record of the work.
